Key Advantages
When compared to other pump types, The Moyno Tri-Phaze System is a specially modified progressing cavity pump with patented features exclusively engineered for multiphase fluid transfer. It costs less to install. It uses a relatively small electric motor and operates at slower speeds. With fewer, more durable components, the Moyno Tri-Phaze System is easier to maintain, too.
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System reduces wellhead or satellite pressure for increased production, extended well life and less down-hole pump maintenance. Even marginal wells can be profitable again with initial investment payback coming within a matter of months.
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System can be used in single well applications or downstream in batteries or satellites. It can also be mounted vertically on platforms where space is a premium.
Low Shear Fluid Transfer
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System's progressing cavity design consists of a single-threaded, external helix (rotor) turning within a double-threaded internal helix (stator). As the rotor turns within the stator, cavities are formed that progress from the suction to the discharge end of the pump. The fluid flows in a spiral path through the pump not far removed from a straight line. The resulting low shear pumping action will not emulsify the oil and water phases, therefore making separation easier at the processing station.
Patented Design
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System isn't a typical progressing cavity pump. Its patented construction (patent #5,722,820 and #5,820,354) is specifically engineered to handle the rigors of multiphase fluid transfer applications.
This patented design allows the Moyno Tri-Phaze System to handle high gas void fractions without premature breakdown of the stator due to excessive heat build-up. It is key to the success of the Moyno Tri-Phaze System. It is what separates it from all other progressing cavity pumps.
Less Piping Corrosion
Under slug flow conditions, competitive pumps exhibit an inability to accept surges in gas-to-liquid ratios. The resulting backwash of fluid within the suction piping contributes to increased pipeline corrosion damage. The Moyno Tri-Phaze System has the capability to operate efficiently under variable flow regimes, including slug flow, without hesitation, thus reducing pipeline corrosion adjacent to the pump suction port.
More Value
Until recently, the cost to operate a multiphase pumping system was often considerably more than the cost to operate the traditional separator, compressor and pump system. Typical twin screw positive displacement pumps or hydrodynamic helico-axial pumps have relatively poor efficiencies and are costly to operate over the long term as compared to the Moyno Tri-Phaze System.
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System has made multiphase pumping economical. Unlike traditional separation equipment, the system allows the producer to move all fluids from the wellsite through a single pipeline to the central processing station where separation takes place. Separation systems, compressors and twin piping are no longer necessary.
Uses
The performance-enhancing features of the Moyno Tri-Phaze System combined with unmatched reliability and flexibility make the Moyno Tri-Phaze System ideal for numerous applications in the oilfield.
New Pool Tie-Ins
When compared to new battery installations for new pool tie-ins, the Moyno Tri-Phaze System costs less to install, maintain and operate, and is environmentally friendly.
Battery Consolidation
A viable option for battery consolidation, the Moyno Tri-Phaze System reduces operating costs and is environmentally friendly. It also is an economical alternative when faced with tank or vessel replacement, pump or compressor repairs or disposal well problems.
Moyno Tri-Phaze System vs. Line Looping
When comparing the Moyno Tri-Phaze System with line looping, producers should consider the following criteria:
- The Moyno Tri-Phaze System is less expensive in certain applications
- The Moyno Tri-Phaze System may reduce pressure further
- The Moyno Tri-Phaze System is portable
- The Moyno Tri-Phaze System is ideal for distances greater than three miles
Moyno Tri-Phaze System vs. Boosters
The Moyno Tri-Phaze System has lower capital costs and is more environmentally friendly than boosters, although in certain applications boosters may require less horsepower.
Hydrate Elimination
Reducing flowline pressures has been shown to reduce operating costs including the costs associated with hydrate formation.
